To start like many others....THIS SITE ROCKS!!! =D> I found this site prior to buying my project and cant tell you how many hours I have spent snooping around....I mean doing research for my project. I know how everyone like pictures so I have added a few of how things are going.

Well I bought this small Jon boat to fish some small ponds and lakes here in the Savannah GA. Everything looked well when I purchased it but to find out there were some cracks. I was lucky enough to find someone who welded them up and bucked some rivets for me free due to him being very nice and kind to us active duty Army guys.

The only time you will know if the lack of foam is an issue is when your boat sinks to the bottom.

Looking good. Not sure about removing all the foam, don't think that was a good idea.

Coming along nicely. Sometimes simple is more. Just depends on your wants/needs. Im going the same route on my 14' jon. Some guys have done amazing jobs on here so plenty of ideas if you choose otherwise. Good luck

Nice looking project! I really like the color you're using......very simple but elegant.....not showy and a color that will always look good. Original OD Green looks good as well. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys I was able to get some carpet on this past weekend but havent snapped any pictures yet but I will soon.

@ inlovewithsurfin...thanks I have been checking your project out also and its looking good! Ill be in the VA beach are sometime early next year so I may need advice on where to fish from a bank. I dont think ill be taking my boat....I do live on some water but there isnt much in it...just some small brim but its fun either way.

@ Big terp...yeah thats the paint I used. Once I snap pictures of the carpet Ill try to take some more of the paint so you can get a better idea.

This is what I have left on the boat to do:
Apply Steel Flex (Light Grey) Not sure how far up the sides Ill go yet
Wiring for trolling motor and FF
Maybe some sort of audio...I love having my tunes when Im out on the water
Figure out where I am going to put my seats...I want to get her in the water before I commit to this.

let me know when your in va beach and ill give you the low down! maybe even go fish with ya!!! you should stock the water you live on!!! :) haha

thanks i appreciate it! I have thought about dropping a couple bass in there to see what happens...time will tell

I have been working on my project slowly but surely and have made a little progress. I got a great deal on the seat, swivel, and pedestal from a local store $25 bucks for the entire set-up  I hope to get some more work done this weekend and have it ready by spring.

I did however find out my trailer needs some TLC also. The springs are dead and the axle situations is unknown. Im hoping I can get away with just replacing the springs. Wish me luck!

I'm looking to add "tunes" to my build as well, and found this at best buy. https://www.amazon.com/HMDX-HX-P230...2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361552652&sr=8-2&keywords=jamz They are VERY loud, cheap, and sound decent. If you have a smart phone or bluetooth enabled music player, you can hook up through bluetooth for 3 hrs on one charge. If you use a headphone cord and plug into the speaker, it lasts 12 hours. Its what I'm going with. On a side note, I went to Best Buys website to get you the link and I couldnt find it, thats why the link is to amazon. Best Buy may have quit carrying them.

Cheers
Mark

I was able to get more work done this weekend inbetween the rain. I got a great deal on a Garmin FF off of craigslist. Its not your bells and whitsles FF but it will show structure, depth and water temp. That should be enough info for the waters I fish. I am working on the wiring plan and hope to know that out next weekend along with srubbing and painting the outside of the boat. I am thinking the same color as the interior since I have a ton of that paint left over.

I was able to get some work done this weekend despite the colder temps. I prepped the boat to apply steel flex. I hope to finish the steel flex sometime during this week after work or Friday since I have the day off.

However I did find a small hole towards the very back under the drain hole area. The hole looks larger than what it really is. I am not sure how I am going to seal it yet...Ideas?

I was able to also get some work done on the trailer. The springs were shot. The axle is rusty but still reliable.

I hope to keep pushing hard when I get time to work on my little set-up since the weather will start to get really nice here in the south.
