What kind of boat speed should my old deep v alumacraft 14.5 ft fishermen do with an old 20hp evenrude?

I'm getting about 20 mph on the gps with about 300 pounds in the boat.

Is this with in range or am I on the slow side?

That don't sound too bad.Do you know what pitch prop you have?

the pitch is 10 1/2 X 11

Ya, you are a little on the slow side.I believe you should be around 25 mph.Depends also on the shape(compression)of the motor.

Performance also depends on your RPM.
You need a tach to determine if your motor is within the correct RPM range at WOT.
