I just bought a trolling motor off CL. Its a 52lb thrust, 5forward 3reverse, 30" shaft. My current motor is a 36lb with a 36" shaft. They are from the same model family.

Does anyone see a problem with just taking the shafts and switching them? I know i would need to length the wires of the 52# with shouldnt be that difficult.

Thanks for the advice!

If composite shafts, I've heard they are hard to get out. Heat is needed to losen the epoxy and the old shafts typicall get damage during the removal.
