took a test run with the 4 hp marnier 2day and it did great. that thing hauled for a 4 hp. i got up to atleast 13 to 15 mph according to the gps. man that was fun but i only was out for about an hour because the boat wasnt registered and we didnt wanna get into trouble. we only took it out for a test run. with me and my dad we got up to a respectable 8 mph and with just me well i already said that earlier but i gunned it and the thing stood straight up in the air so i had to sit in the middle seat to take off but i didnt mind. and for all of u asking yes it did plane even though it is a long shaft and one more thing, i never realized it till i got home but i had the choke turned 1/4 of the way on so it could prob. go a little faster. anyways just an up date =D>
