10 years ago I'd just pull the battery out of my car and use it for my trolling motor.

Now that I'll have my son with me I don't want to get stranded, so what is the best way to charge a marine battery?

Do I need to get a special battery charger?

Thanks,
P

it's best to use one that is 5amps... I use mine on 2amp though, and just let it do a real deep cycle charge.. and I don't have to check on it that much.

I like the Schumaker chargers that run 2/10/75, or 5/10/15 (those are the amps for charging in parenthesis)

I set it on Deep Cycle/Automatic/Maintenance Free - it's fully charged the next morning when I'm ready to go fishing
