    Stumps?

^^^Sounds like it might work. If I find myself in that "boat" again, it's worth a try. Thanks!

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

Can you get it anywhere, such as a hardware store? Might like to try.

    Stumps?

The funniest part is he didn't mind. I probably would have been ready to go change clothes, but he was just as ready to be wet & fish 'til the next morning!

    Slow leaks . . .ugh!

5200? What is this? A friend of mine suggested JB Weld. Any thoughs on this? I have the same leaky problems, previously located with above mentioned method. Works great!

Nice boat for the price. Looks like mine as far as shape and size. Welcome & enjoy the boat! I really find this site to be very helpful and I think you'll agree.

    Stumps?

I'm just curious about the best way to tackle these darn things, more specifically those just under the surface that you can't see until you're on 'em. See story below for my latest encounter. This past Friday night, a buddy & I went to Lake Palestine to catfish with poles & jugs. Once out from...

    Zoom Baby Brush Hog...

...in watermelon candy. Absolutely love it! Caught two lunkers (imo) on two different lakes in the last week with said lure. One being a private lake, so no biggie. The other is a park lake about 7 ac., so the fish have probably seen it all. I normally pull small fry, but got a 3lb 14oz...

    Sportwin or chrysler

Good luck with your motor. I have a 62 model Sportwin 10 hp & it runs great. Do you know the year on yours? Edit: just saw the other posts about this motor; seen it is a '72.

Choosing a Trolling motor for my 10 ft jon.. narrowed down

Think you may mean me. If so, I have a 14' jon & yes, I do love the VariMax. Highly recommend it for the money. My 2 cents.

When to charge and not to charge battery????

Good to know. I always waited until the night before to recharge; guess I'll change my habit. Thanks.

    Motor Guide Varimax

Okay here's an update for anybody interested. I've got to use it twice since I posted. It took the first outing to get used to the "push-pull" for forward & reverse. Once past that, however, using it has been a breeze. And for me it has plenty of speed, plus the variable speed makes it not as...

    Motor Guide Varimax

This model is nice because it gives you what they call BluVis function display. It basically a light graph that shows you speed setting & battery voltage. And it is variable speed which I also like. I will report on how it is as soon as I can get back on the water. Too dang windy here today. :(

    New Guy with questions

To answer the seat question, I have two in my 14ft with the clamp-ons & I think they are great. Lots better to lean back on than nothing at all. Oh, I too worry about the wake from other boats, but as long as you are aware you should be okay.
