Hello all first time poster, I have been looking on the site for ideas and I thought I'd share my project.

I bought the boat off CL with a motorguide 34lb TM for $325. I also a week later picked up an 3.3 hp evrinrude lightwin for $200.

I'm a big hunter and all but was not diggin the camo paint job. I've started with aqua strip to remove the paint and then mock up my plans with some card board. I fly fish mostly and was wanting something simply yet useful. I would like to have carpet mostly everywhere due to the heat we have. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated, if I've left out crucial info to get some help please ask. Thanks everyone.

I would like to put my battery in the second bench to help to distribute weight it's a group 29 batery so it's pretty heavy don't know if this is a good idea or not. I'm planning on doing a front deck from the front bench to the first support brace on the floor almost like drnip's setup, then I plan on doing a rear deck from my rather large bench to the transom. I plan on having two seat on upfront on the deck then one on the rear bench. Any suggestions would be great.

:WELCOME: aboard!

I hope you find this site as helpful as I do. Everyone on here is friendly and eager to share their knowledge.

Nice little find! The motor looks to be already restored. :D

The heat? Rock yard looks like AZ or Nevada or Austin, Texas. I can relate to the heat; E TX.

I've seen many rebuilds with grey boat carpet. I believe you can purchase it at Lowe's or Home Depot, along with the glue/adhesive.

There is a very recent thread on here where a gent just rebuilt an old semi-v. He put his battery box up in the bow. He has some really nice pics on there of the framing.

Thanks for sharing your project! Keep the pics coming on your rebuild. Good Luck!

Couldn't help but notice the bike. 8)

The thread:
My Build 19?? Starcraft 14'

Hope this helps!

You've got a great start on her! Keep up the good work!

Thanks TexasLoneStar56, I appreciate your input and advice.

You all will have to tell me if this was a good deal or not, but I was on ebay and purchased this. 6' ×10' I think that'll be plenty for my small boat.

Looks good to me. I do a lot of business on ebay, buying and selling. It's a sure fire way of getting exactly what you ordered, in a timely manner. Ebay is strict on that.

If you are happy with the price, then who's to say other wise? Right! =D>

Keep up the good work! Keep the pics coming as we all like to see progress in action!

Nice ride! I knew it was a HD. When you ride one, you can spot one.

Wow....both decks cut out! Way to go! Yeah, I want to see the framing. The bones always intrigue me. BTW: Nice choice in color on the carpet. 8)

I'll be watching for your pics. Keep up the good work!

So I managed to get some work done, I have my decks cut out, the front floor, the bench is cut for the battery, fits perfect. I don't know where to start though with the framing. Any suggestions?

If you are trying to save weight on the batteries try a lithion Ion Battery. Bit more expensive but save a ton of weight. These are ones I came across. https://www.starkpower.com

I appreciate the link but already have a battery... I have no construction back round nor have I done this. Was kind of hoping to get some pointers on framing. I bought some 1"×1/20 aluminum angle, just don't know where to begin.

Today I sanded more paint off. After a couple of hours of that I decided to take a break and work on my battery compartment.
