So I've started the prep on my 19'5" spectrum beast. Using a wire brush wheel for mostly the decals and pin stripping. Them going over with a 7" circular variable speed sander with 60grit to take out that old paint. I will final sand with 120 grit before cleaning and primer paint. Any tips? I heard once all sanding to give it a good clean with warm water dove soap and vinegar?

Trying for a nice even sand on sides of boat so no imperfections under the dark coloured paint... Going with a dark blue on sides and a white on bottom of hull. On bottom of hull just going to give it a quick 120grit sand before prime and paint.

Never heard of Dove soap, just 50/50 Vinegar and water, then self etching primer, primer then top coat.

Out there in the snow sanding off the paint. Wish I had that kind of determination:)

We just used an air gun and a cloth with preps all. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

One side done, 60 and 120 grit ready for wash and to start other side.... Arms feel like Jello lol using a big 7"pad variable sander... Works great but heavy

So on the next nic day we have above 10 degrees Celsius and sunny I wanted to prime the boat. Does anyone see this as being a issue? I know some paints recommended 20 degree Celsius? If it's sunny and the relative humidity is under 80% should I be OK? I can also heat the surface with a heat gun if this helps before painying....i will be using rustoleum self etching spray can primer
