I'm not sure where I first saw this idea, but since I do a lot of my fishing by myself I thought I would make myself a camera mount for the boat. I had a couple of extra pedestals and the stainless hardware laying around, all I needed to purchase was the PVC pipe and the end cap.
I drilled a hole in the end cap and mounted the stainless hardware with a nylon lock nut.
Made sure the threads would fit the camera.
Put the pedestal in the base.
Then I cut the 1 1/2 PVC pipe to the proper height and glued the end cap on. The open end of the PVC pipe fits over the pedestal. Now I can use the timer on the camera to take pictures of the catch.
I can move this to the back seat base if I need wider angle
Then I took a test shot.
