Fuel/Air Lock

I have a mid 80's 20hp Merc
Just had it professionally serviced 1.5 months ago. Been out a few times no issues
Today for the life of me i couldn't get it started.
I checked and cleaned plugs
Pulled the fuel filter and fuel line to the carb
reconnected everything
She fired up on the first pull

My question is, has anyone else had similar issues, i am thinking i had a air/fuel lock in the system....
Thoughts?

If you parked it with the fuel line attached it was most likely flooded.

I don't leave the line attached one i am done with my trip.
It was in my driveway no line attached, i didn't connect the line again until i launched.
