I have been wanting to add remote steering and throttle to my "project".

I am going to be sitting on back bench seat to operate and shifter is well within reach so I dont need shift cable , and am wondering if anyone has made a "homemade" remote throttle control.

any ideas or pics ?

i had the same idea. i have heard of a steering stick instead of a wheel and i was thinking of using sonething like the brake of a bicycle and the cable. not sure if this would work but an idea i had. what do you think?

I am leaning towards a locking throttle cable , you can turn it out and it acts like a cruise control , and it has a button on the end to release it and return it quick if you have to. They are a "push-pull" cable too that would be nice in case of emergencies.

Why don't you just use a remote throttle and gear box, like you would have if your boat had a steering wheel. I plan to use this set up when I get my boat done. Tiller steer and remote throttle and gear shift.
