Lowrance hds 5 issue

Bought used. Hope im the idiot. It won't connect to gps it works turns on just can't do gps.

Where do you have it mounted? They have an internal gps antenna and need a relatively clear overhead "view" of the sky. I have the Elite 5 and my buddy has the HDS 5 and a t-top on his center console. He would often lose gps signal till he added an external antenna.

On start up do you see a splash screen that satellites are acquired?

Screen shot looks like you're in cursor mode.

Exit that mode.

Good response here, I assume you don't have any data in it yet you need to save so a hard reset is probably worth a try too.
