So, after 4 months of anxiously waiting for the ice to go out, today, I finally registered my new boat, and got her in the water. I Decided to try my luck trolling for landlocks on Maine's Sebago Lake, and my efforts paid off!
While removing the hook, I managed to send it right through my thumb, and with a barb, pulling it out was not an option.... ended up driving it back out and cutting the hook. On the way home I stopped into work to pick a couple more flies. These are some pics I took of my rig in the parking lot. 8)
To any of you who are fortunate enough to have landlock salmon in your area, and want something fun to do just after the ice goes out, I highly recommend trolling for them on a fly rod. There's nothing that gets the blood pumping like hearing your reel scream as line goes roaring off, then the thrill of watching them jump on the end of your line while you fight em'!
Thanks for reading, and tight lines!
