My first Jon! lowe 1236

Hello everyone, Im excited to hve finally found a good deal on a nice jon, cost me $600. 12 foot Lowe jon with a 5 HP gamefisher and an old trolling motor. I wanna do a floor and a small front deck for mounting my new foot controlled trolling motor. Also, time and money being the issue, i hope to paint her up and add quite a few accesories. My first post is essentially me asking what you guys think of the setup for the price and see what the options are for modifications so don't be shy with your suggestions! Im looking forward to hearing from all of you.... Thanks

I think you got a good deal for 600. I would put a floor in it to help protect the bottom of the boat and also quite it down while fishing. I would POSITIVLY mount my seats another way. I had those same brackets and almost took a swim too many times :lol: . Maybe before doing some type of flooring run you wiring under it so that it is out of the way.

I think you got a heckuva deal. I with truckmechanic on the seat mounts, they'll put you in with the fish if you're not careful. Good luck and :WELCOME: Aboard.

GLad to hear a warning on the seats before i took a swim lol so i went to home depot looking around and trying to find something i may be able to work with as far as building a front deck about 2 foot in the front i picked up 3/8 in. ply wood and a couple 2X4's and i got basically everything else that i need to do it. The thing that has me stuck is i cant figure out how i want to mount the deck to the boat. Ive seen alot of cool ideas on here but i just cant figure out how everyone is mouunting them. Let me know what you think. your input is greatly appreciated

You build the frame first, then add the deck, check the photos on the Mods here, good luck
