Just bought a new Alumacraft 1236 to replace my 1232 which was way too small and shallow for running around creeks off the ICW. It will be powered by a Nissan 5 HP 2 stroke. It will live in my garage on a trailer with plastic skids on the bunkers. Anyway...I want to take good care of it...a few questions:
(1) Do I need to add anything (metal or plastic) to the transom where I will hang the motor?
(2) Do I really need a transom saver on a motor that small? (I didn't previously and never saw the need)
(3) What other simple mods should I consider? I have rod holders mounted on my cooler so I'm covered there.
