I purchased a new alumacraft jon boat and I was surprised that it came without any oarlock sockets. I purchased a pair from the local supply shop but I am unsure of where to place them. I looked around on the internet and 13" aft of the edge of the middle seat seemed to be the general consensus, but none of these sources discussed jon boats specifically, so I thought I would ask here. Thanks

:)

Auxiliary propulsion devices :D

On my Tracker 1436, a common jon boat, they are centered at 10 1/16" aft of the center seat. They feel right to me but, I'm not a large guy. Your size may make a difference.

PRIMARY propulsion devices for me. I'm as close to 200lbs as I can get without hitting 200lbs! By the end of summer, I'll be a hunk, a dude.....a hunky dude! Gonna have me a six pack. Yup!
