I am building a side storage on my boat that will hold multiple small items. I have the top bar in place but still have to do a few supports. I am having a hard time trying to fîgure out the best way to mount the top lid that will open. How have others done it?

- Are you putting the hinge on the outside or are you putting it on the side closest to the boat wall?
- What kind of hinge are you using?

Here are some pictures of what i have now.

Nice work on a on a nice looking rig. I suggest hinges go against the side of the boat. Easier to see what is inside the storage area since you don't have to look over the open lid, and little risk of over-stressing the hinge should you accidentally lean on the open lid. Will you be using wood or aluminum for the exterior?
