I guess I would go after this opportunity a little differently. Rather than box everything from the batteries, box the batteries from everything else. Buy yourself a couple of plastic batttery boxes with lids and put the batteries in them. Then you have all of that space to use for whatever, plus you don't have to fart around with anything in your way, other than more stuff.

I've thought about the battery boxes before, and looked at them a couple of times, just never took the step to buy and install them. But you never know, sometimes I do things at the spur of the moment, lol.

Okay, rec'd the Aquamats from BPS today and got them installed. Piece of cake! The Aquamat comes in a box of 6 tiles (12"x12" each), and snap together. I had to trim a bit to fit the width, but it trims easily, as I couldn't find my razor knife, so used a pair of utility scissors. It's a perfect side-to-side fit now! 8) . Also rec'd the BPS Boat Bag (small size 18" x10"x10") that was on sale, put an extra pfd in it and stored in the back.

I like 'em. When assembling them, flip them over and there are 4 small "pegs" on one edge, and the receiving edge has 4 holes. Line them up and (as per the instructions) use a hammer to lightly tap them together. As you can see in the pics above, there is some open area around the batteries, but I didn't want to order another box just to cover that up.
