Storage console material?

I need advice. I'm looking to build a center console storagearea/grab bar on an 1860 lowe tiller. First, can I use treated wood if the console sets on a rubber mat? Second, if not what should I seal untreated console with? Last, I also have looked at some aluminum tool chest, but they are expensive and not exactly what I want. Thanks

I wouldn't use pressure treated wood anywhere near an aluminum boat. When ever the wood gets wet the copper used to treat the wood will leach out. Use exterior grade plywood and seal it with epoxy resin, polyester resin with fiberglass cloth or spar varnish.
