Hey folks, I need to pick your brains for awhile. We are moving to a new town with sidewalks and everything and there is not enough room for my boat. (14 ft Elgin with a Sears or Harbor Freight Trailer). The only space it can possible go is between the neighbors fence and the garage, where it can then be "shielded" from street view by a taller wooden gate. There is an old flower bed there now and I as thinking of pulling those and maybe putting down a harder surface, gravel or boards. it is not wide enough to back the trailer in there, so my thoughts were to remove the boat from the trailer,, flip the trailer on its side and slide it in, then do the same with the boat, Boat is light, trailer not bad, doable. My thought was either a dolly of some sort to flip the trailer onto or a mountable wheel on the side/edge of the trailer. Maybe eye bolts on the edge of the boat and hang it on hooks on the side of the garage, and then slide in the trailer? I need to look again at the property, we haven't moved yet and it's an hour away. I've got some time as we aren't moving til August.
The dolly contraption would need, I would think, larger, wheelbarrow type wheels as I think smaller caster ones wouldn't even roll.
I know you have seen many a thing in your travels! And I am not the first to face an un-understanding spouse and a move and no room. Storage shed, modifying garage, etc are out, no funds and also any type of "shed" in the yard. Maybe in the future when she softens a bit.
Thanks ahead of time for your ideas, realistic or not or even just plain funny! And yes, I have to keep my spouse for now!
