I’ve been through all the threads that are saved on redoing Jon boats and I don’t see many for a 12 foot Jon boat. I think there’s one that I found. Anyway I would love some suggestions on what would make sense on redoing a stock Alumacraft 1236. Red fishing and bass fishing for 2 people. Tiller 5 hp for now but will be upgrading to 9.9.

My first thoughts are try and keep your added weight as minimal as possible, as low as possible and in the center of the boat. I'm sure others can offer better advice.

On any boat like that which is not that wide, I personally would put in a floating floor to stand on, and that’s about it.

Jim what is a “floating” floor? Cushion?
It’s a floor that you just lay down and remove when not needed. It makes it easier to step/stand. I put one in my Coleman crawdad back in the day and it was a game changer.
