Last one, I promise. I need to get back to work (darn this site!!)

This is definitely a mod-v 1448. Its listed at 1200 and comes with an older gas motor, a fishfinder, two pedestal seats with very nice cushion seats (don't overlook stuff like this, those seats and pedestals cost over 100 bucks new), and a very nice looking trailer. 1200 is a reasonable price as is .... 1000 would be a very good deal in my opinion.

Heck yea!!

Checking them out now thank you so much! Wow that site you linked me to is a time saver! Did not know about it at all. I was just thinking i wish there was an easier way to search craigslist. I'll check those links out and drop some emails.

I was worried on the V-Bottom about putting a casting deck on the front. I heard unless it maybe a Deep V it could be a little tipsy. So i was leaning more towards the flat bottom for that. I could be wrong, but i thought thats what i had read.

The one in Boonville, AR
https://fortsmith.craigslist.org/boa/2942221364.html
It was only 36" Wide at the floor. But dang thats a good price.

I just messaged the one in Harrison AR. Yea its a 48" on the floor.

Yea Medford one would be great too.

Again thank you! YOu made my searching alot easier with that link.

Harrison, AR sent me some more pics at $1200, Got a livewell, lots of extras that come with it. I would probably be all over this boat if it wasn't so dang far away. looking at a 3 hr drive. But hey its friday night.

From his last email. "it's flat. it has a 32"deck in the front and a live well in the middle seat. it has a fish finder and battery but i'm not sure how good the battery is. It still turns the finder on and I haven't charged for probably 6 months. I have a seat for the center but it isn't installed. It has 2 anchors with cranks that are both operated from the back seat."

Yah, that is wrong. Lots of us do it with a semi-V...

I did and was very surprised at how stable my boat is...

I only weigh 145 but I can get right on all the edges alright....

I would base the type of boat more on the type of water you will be in.

That $800 is a good deal for a project boat, but you also want to consider how much you want to spend on the project...that one needs a few hundred easy.

He says someone is coming to look at it tonight, I dont mind driving 2 hrs but that seems to be the limit i can't talk myself into driving 3+ haha

now he says his dog chewed through the lights on the trailer wires. So i would be driving back at night with no trailer lights. And someone stole the gas tank to the boat. I mean i planned on stripping and gutting this boat anyways. But now all i think of what else is wrong with it that he may drop on me or i find after driving 3 hours.

Maybe i better keep looking. This deal may not be so sweet.

I am not a fan of driving far for that reason...

Funny how people like that keep finding things to add to the list of negatives. "Oh yeah, I just remembered, last time I ran it the motor caught on fire, but it probably just needs a new fuel pump...no biggy." ;)

Trapper - keep at it. I remember trolling CL for 4 months until I found my keeper. I can't tell you how many people I talked to that had surprises like that. You'll find the right boat!

Lol exactly. I drive 3 1/2 hrs and probably find 3 more surprises. Oh you wanted a boat that floated? Oh u need 2 good trailer tires. I'd be royaly pissed after 3+ hrs on the road. I'll keep the search going. Gotta stay strong.

I think I'll stick to my guns and keep at a 2 hr driving radius.

Wow this one is pretty sweet looking! I like look has a little bit of style to it.

As long as i could puta casting deck on it i would be happy.

Love the classic looking Johnson Motor.

How do the V boats handle in shallow water? I guess i couldnt get to shallow. and i want to be able to mount a foot controlled Trolling motor on it eventually.

Looking at some V-Bottom builds i think i could do everything and more to this boat that i wanted.

Just curious how shallow i could run it, after fishing a local lake that had some shallow waters on one end curious as to how far i could get in there. Or how shallow i could run it.

A semi V you should be able to get pretty shallow...the bottoms are mostly flat...that's what that boat is, not a V bottom.

nice so its a semi-v.

Sweet just wanted to make sure i can get in those shallow places.

they close at 5:00 i gonna go check it out saturday. $850 sounds pretty good, i'll offer them $750 hehe. No telling how long that 1958 johnson will last me, but that retro engine looks is awesome.

I talked to them over the phone, they are a boat dealership. Boat floats, no holes, tears etc. Engine works. Atleast they should be able to test it out for me on site. They lady wasn't sure but said its atleast 48" wide thought it was more like 50"

Need to ask about clear titles, anything else I should inquire about I may not be thinking of?

Well crap you got to be kidding me. I guess the dealer didnt own the boat and was going to sell it for an individual. Set there for 2 weeks and he come bye today and picked it up. :(

They had no information on the the guy. (which i find hard to believe, unless they couldn't give out that info.) Can't even get a number to call him direct.

Left my number just in case.

One door shuts another one opens, similiar style boat, just doesn't have the sweet paint job, and a smaller outboard. But the boat is a 1 foot bigger.

man i feel like someone just stole my boat. lol That and them not being able to tell me who the heck the guy was really just hacks me off.

I think i am just gonna step away from searching for a few days, maybe they call me back, maybe some new listing pop up over the weekend.

Until then my two man boat has some life left in her and i plan to go fishing tomorrow.

Thanks again for the help and info everyone.

Found one thats peeked my interest got him checking on the width, but I am afraid its gonna end up being only 36" wide, just doesn't look to wide from the pics.

My question is how hard is it to deal with this camo style paint on the motor? I would definitely want to paint the motor back to the factory colors, I know the boat i can grind and sand the paint.

Listed at $1500, I am thinking maybe $1200ish?

This looks pretty decent too. But got that lovely khaki paint color. 50" Across the middle. Everything looks in good shape. Plus its not that far away from me. What you guys think about this boat?

Priced at $1250

And a Deal Presents itself!

Question, those little straps that are going to the seat? Can they be removed and still maintain good structure of the boat? I don't want to remove any seats, i know that can be bad. I want to deck the boat so they would be in the way.

All i could see is one of us tripping over them. Surely there is something i could do to help strengthen if i was to remove them. They're not there on other v bottom boats i have seen, just a few. But they must be there for a reason.
