Trolling motor mount

I have a Minn Kota Endura 45lbs thrust trolling motor. I have switched the head around and put it on the bow of my tracker topper 1542lw. I had a piece of steel that i carpeted and bolted it strait to my deck but its not holding up very well. When its turned on high speed it acts as it is going to pull my deck right from my boat. Does anybody have any ideas on a new trolling motor mount, or how i can fix mine. Thanks
