Hello all new member here with a general question. I'm in the process of replacing a wood transom on a 1984 Sea Nymph 16R. I went the traditional route and laminated 3 sheets of plywood with epoxy resin and sealed the exterior with resin also. (the steps were well described on your site by various members - well done guys - made the process easier!). As an added step I was thinking of adding rubber snow & ice shield (same material used on roofs) over the sealed plywood as an added waterproof layer. I was going to place the adhesive side of the rubber to the plywood. The boat is primarily used in saltwater. Would the rubber cause any issues with the aluminum or epoxy?

thanks

Not sure it will react with the wood or Aluminum. The ice shield could cause the plywood to hold water though and that isn't good. IMO you should stick with the time tested method of just sealing the plywood.
