1232 Seat Height Question

First off, Love this site. Stumbled on it looking for info to rebuild my old 1981 Sears 1232... I have read almost all of the 12' mod threads I can find and have settled on floor boards with seats mounted to the benches. I am trying to decide on pedestal seat height. I want to mount my seat to the front bench with enough height to run a foot control TM. My benches are 8" high and about 6" below the gunwale. I am considering the WISE 12" Pedestal, or the 7". I basically need enough height to run the pedal, but I dont want to tip over. The boat had decks to the gunwale with 15" pedestals when I bought it.....WAY to tippy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ditto. I had a 15" post I used on my 1236 once, came home and cut it in half.

I used 7" on my 1436 and they are perfect for me. They aren't too tall that makes it ttippy and they are tall enough it is comfortabl on the TM.
