I am new to forum and first time post. I inherited my uncles 1970 Arkansas Traveler 14' boat two months ago. I have been working on it since. Got all the leaks fixed by replacing rivets and new paint. Worked great on lake last weekend. Now I am wanting to mod the inside so me and wife or me and my kids can fish together. I want to put a deck and storage but lost as to how to do it with seating for three if need be. So looking for ideas. Thaught about decking from from middle seat forward. Need help...

Nice looking AT. They are strong boats. Pretty much sit down and figure out what you want to do, set go for it. They have thick ribs on floor for attaching flooring, so its not bad.

I have a 1959 14' AT. I completely deck mine in. Here is my build thread. I'm about 3/4 ways done with it https://forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?t=33474

You could deck between the front and middle seat. However I'd be concerned with a seat built on top of that deck affecting stability. There are other mods on here, I'd search them.

Thanks guys. I was just experimenting with the seats. Mainly want storage and make it easier to bass fish. My uncle was a big crappie fisherman so it was set up good for him. He had it in the shop prepared to spend $4000 on it before he passed. So I'm just trying to make it what he imagined it to be. Taking it out next weekend. Maybe will throw some plywood on to get a feel for what I'm comfortable with.

Thanks for the replies.

I love these boats. Nothing like fishing out of a Traveler. For their size there Super Strong & incredibly stable. I love mine https://forum.tinboats.net/viewtopic.php?t=33352 a 1961 runabout built for Montgomery wards Sea King lineup. I'm just now getting around to painting it ( 1 more coat to go then I will update my thread ); you have a sharp looking boat & I cant wait to see what you do to it.
