Why do some bow nav lights say "for boats made before '73"?? I think tgats the year but irrelevant anyway. I'm looking for inexpensive route as this 1442 is not my project boat. Just a for now boat. Also I have a huge roll of 10GA wire I aquirred. Not sure what the max amp rating of small lights are but would it be big enough to run from the starting battery at the stern to the bow light?

10 gauge wire is plenty big enough (overkill even which is ok) for any bow light short of the titanic (would not have helped the titanic anyway).
