I have a 16' misty river with a floor and side decking. I want to attack a cleat or two to the inside of the gunwale or the side of the boat. Is this possible, or would it be best to attach to the wood decking? If it is how would I do it? The cleats would be used for attaching the anchor line as well as a drift sock. Thanks

I put 2 of the nylon no-tie cleats on my jon. The front one is sideways on the bow the rear one is on the transom corner brace. I used stainless steel screws, nuts and large flat washers to mount them.
