My rod locker was only made to hold 6ft rods, here is the problem, all my rods are 7ft as you can see in the pics I had to cut the top off to get to the alum plate, once I cut that alum plate away, this gave me plenty of room to install the new rod tubes.

Where did you get the rod tubes?

Did you put coam back in around teh tubes? I hope so that is part of your floation system incase you take on water.
 
Well out here in Calif everyone said I can get them at Walmart, so I went to 3 Walmarts and they had nothing, so I went to a golf shop, the had the tubes for 0.99.Ya the one pic shows half the foam I put in,I ran out of the foam,so I had to go back and get more, it's filled with foam.
 
Nice work! I've heard other people talk about using the golf tubes for that purpose, due to their cost (inexpensive), and they have the flared end instead of a straight cut.
