what are some good tie downs to hold a cooler and storage box... i want them flush for when i dont have the cooler in the boat...

i found some that are like a d-ring with a strap made for trailer floors...but they are regular steel(gonna rust) and seem a lil too heavy duty for just tying down a cooler....

Flush will be difficult, maybe low profile? Yeti makes a cooler tie down kit but its $50, looks like some plastic battery box tie down brackets and a nylon web strap, could make your own so to speak. Check out ack.com, a yak retailer/supplier and search for "pad eye". Might work for you.

What about something like a fold down dock cleat?

Not really "flush" but certainly out of the way.

Here you go....in stainless steel no less.

ok..maybe flush isnt the best word.... something that wil lay somewhat flat when not in use...ive done the little screw eye thing in the past and not crazy about doing that again...

those first 2 are way too heavy duty/complicated for my purpose...the last one is a little closer to what i have in mind, but a little steep in price for me...

im thinking(i alwas brainstorm) if i can find some hinges with no screw holes, drill 2 screw holes to mount to floor on one side, and then drill one bigger hole for bungee hook.....hmm...ill keep looking, i know ive seen some somewhere.....

ill prob just go with these....

I'd be clipping (or snapping) web belt stock to the underside edges of your bench seats to keep from drilling holes in your floor stringers.

ill have a plywood floor to screw them down to...

i came up with something... may sound crazy, but a hasp like youd put on a shed door or cabinet..

i think they will work perfect... im gonna scuff them up and hit them with some rustoleum primer and paint...they should last ok...
