How do I put a drain plug in my jon boat

Ive been trying to finish up my jon boat and it seems like something keeps coming up. My question now is how do I put a drain plug in my boat? My uncle has a 12 foot flat bottom jon boat and his has a plug. My father in law also suggested that I put one in but I have no idea how to . Can anyone give me some ideas on what i would need to do this. Im very nervous about putting a hole in the bottom of my boat. Thanks for the help.

I bought a drain plug kit from basspro and a 1 inch holesaw from lowes. Drilled the hole, used 5200 to seal it and that was it.
