I am looking to adding a bit more storage to my Lowe Boat. I have the frame built for the storage boxes, but haven't made the platform yet. My question is this. What is the easiest material to work with when making a template? I will be attempting this by myself.

I guess the my main concern is getting the top dimension right because the storage box top will get wider as it goes back towards the console. I'm thinking maybe a big piece of some type of thin cardboard box.

Felt paper (for roofing) is easy to use, and can be taped together if needed. Of course it's not worth buying a roll to use....but just in case you or someone you know has some laying around. It also gives you a clean edge when trimmed.

Might get a little tacky in the extreme heat while working with it, but you won't have to worry about that now.
