I have a Lowes 1440 'Rover Jon'

https://www.loweboats.com/2013/jon-boats/l1440m-jon/

I've fished out of it for a few years and just lived with standing/tripping on the ribs in the front because I haven't figured out a good way to put a flat floor in due to the mod-v. I don't want a deck, just a flat floor up front to stand on that sits on the ribs and follows the slope of the mod-v. Any thoughts or ideas?

The reason I'm not looking to add a deck are stability issues (small boat) and fishing with kids (tend to fall in).

Thanks for any ideas!

The bow portion of a Mod-V hull can be tricky. I extended my bow deck about 18" to allow storage for batteries and a center storage compartment. This helped me to avoid most of the sloping/curving part of the hull. I did have to fight with some of the tricky areas though. What I did was template out my entire floor with cardboard. I used aluminum sheet and angle for my floor, but a cardboard template would work just as well for a wood floor. If you check out my build thread you can see how I did my floor and how I dealt with the Mod-V portion of the hull/floor. It would be easier for you to look at those pictures than for me to try and explain it here. Hopefully it helps you out. Good luck!!

Check my last year's build link at bottom of this post. Page 2, I think. Sectioning and support technique has been problem-free for me. Should work for you, I'd think.

Edit: here's one image. Sections are just fitted under seat section. No carpentry.

Have fun, be safe.
