I've been out twice this week in between rain storms searching for some lunker largemouths right in people's backyards. Some of the best fishing I have found all summer is in the retention ponds right behind a lot of subdivisions, malls, and office complexes. I usually ask permission if it looks like it is private, but most of the places I've had good luck at are just abandoned ponds in the middle of no where.

Weather was cloudy, prefrontal with temperatures in the high 60's. I was throwing a black inline spinner and a green Senko (wacky rigged), my friend was throwing a black & blue trick worm. Here's some pics from my latest adventure:

They started out small...but they were good looking, healthy fish:

They got a little fatter at first:

They got a bit longer:

Then I started catching some big fat ones:

And just when I thought I had caught the biggest fish, my buddy pulled out this hawg!:

Please don't' be offended at me but be careful thinking these are abandoned ponds. Somebody owns them many times it's the developing company or person maybe a homeowners association. Many time they will be less than cordial if someone catches you there. I hope nothing bad comes from your quest to find a few new fishing holes. Good Luck!
