Transom rebuild

Never seen a transom that was one inch...but it would not surprise me. If you build your transom so that it goes down below the brace that goes across the back. If your transom went all the way to the hull then I would try and build it back to that dimension.

huntinfool, Can you restate your response again?...not sure I follow.....If you were me, would you extend the transom board to the hull or just keep it at half way to the hull?.....Also, yes my transom is 1 inch thick, 4 ft across the back and it has a 10 inch height.
