The flows I fish in my area generally run from 2000 to 7000. I currently have a 45lb bow mount, but now have a new boat (16' 200lbs) should I upgrade to an 80lb TM and a 24V system?

Go with the most powerful trolling motor you can afford along with the batteries. You can never have to much power in my opinion, never know when you might need it. Just my two cents on this matter.

I went from a 12v 55# to a 24v 70# and it made a world of difference on the river when fishing swift water. My buddies and I run 70 and 80# Minnkota's on our local rivers and they do well. A 36v setup would be even better, but the 24v setups have done everything we have needed.
