Help with selling price on boat

I've advertised my boat for about 3-4 weeks now with only a few bites. Only one good bite and it was from a friend who knows the boat. He ended up buying a new one. New prices if you built this rig: 25 hp Yamaha 4 stroke $3300 custom ordered Alweld 14' mod-V commercial grade and commercial...

    Saltwater Flyfishing Grand Slam

I just made it home from a top ten trip of a lifetime to Venice, Louisiana with my long time fishing partner Capt. Ryan. We fished for four days. I mostly fly fished except for a half day tuna trip. Day one was a half day so we ran to Breton Island. First cast yeilded my PB Speckled trout on...

We made our annual overnight flounder gigging trip to Horn Island to fill our freezers. It was a blast!!! We all gigged our our limit of 15 each night. We had several around 5lbs with one 8lbs'r. I took a bunch of pictures but they didn't turn out very good because it was so dark. I know we...

Last few trips Bay St Louis, Cat Island, and Hopedale

Spring is finally here!!!!! It was around 80 degrees today with a stiff sea breeze that was wonderful. The fish are really starting to turn on. It's been real hectic and I haven't been posting many trips this year. I've been working about 55 hours a week, running 3-4 charters a month, prefishing...

Fishing for the next 7 days Updated

As the title states, I have fishing trips planned for every day I have off this week except for a mild inconvenience Thursday (something about a Turkey). Started off yesterday installing my new electronics (GPS and depth finder) then going to a gator and Speckled trout fry/party for the Saints...

    Heaviest stringer of the year.

A old friend called and said lets go fishing on the Jordan River. Capt. Ryan, who is a local inshore guide, and I grew up fishing these waters together for the last 25 years. The morning started out rough. A cold front moved through Thursday which dropped the morning temps. to the 40's. The...

WOW!! How many outboards can you fit on a tin boat?

The whole hull must be one huge gas tank. It's reported that it was built for the BP oil spill clean up. I would love to lay my hands on one of those Yamaha 250 4 strokes. I have a 200hp and priced a 250. The best I saw was $19000.

    Hopedale 10-9

I took out a couple of friends yesterday and introduced them to the world of drag ripping Redfish. The highlight of the trip was watching my friends 5 year old son try to reel in several 10+lbs Redfish. He started with a little Zebco his dad bought the night before. Well, the first Red...

    Building boat sheds and fishing

It's been a while since I last posted due to being really busy building a boat shed, fishing and working. I finally took the time and added on to my shop. The sun was killing my new boat. The shop was built to hold a boat due to it being 36' long, but some of you might can relate to this, my...

    Water Spouts and good fishing

It was a HOT and great day catching fish today until the thunderstorms moved in. It took me a little while today to develope a pattern, but once I did, It was on! We were frequently having triple hook-ups on Specks. Throw in a few Reds and it doesn't get any better. It is the funniest sight when...

Fishing like there is no tomorrow, there might NOT be!!

We have had some great fishing despite being surrounded by oil. The area I'm fishing is still open to recreational and commercial fishing. It is extremely difficult keeping up with what areas are open. It changes daily depending on which way the wind blows. I've been stopped by the Coast Guard...

    Oil Spill

Guys, please say a extra prayer tonight for the entire Gulf Coast region and the 11 still missing from the oil rig explosion. The oil leaking in the Gulf is really bad. A huge portion of LA & MS's economy is based on the Gulf. As if this area hasn't struggled enough with Katrina, This is going...

    polarized sunglasses

It is hard to beat Costa Del Mar Green or Blue Mirror lens for flats fishing. They are $$$$$$. If you ever try a pair, they will ruin you. You will never want any others IMO.

    Boat Value

I'm thinking about selling one of my boats. :( Just thinking!!!!!! My dear "MarshMaster" Alweld is just going to be sitting since I bought another boat. What do you think is a fare/high asking price? Remember I do not have to sell it. I'm including what it cost new... '07 14' Alweld V V series...

    Battery charging ???

On my new boat, it has a 24 volt TM. Can I charge one battery at a time without unhooking the batteries or could this cause problems? When you open the hatch, one battery is right there. The other one is very tightly crammed behind it with very little access. I will be buying a 4 bank charger...

Help!! I crossed back over to the other side again!!!

The "Fiberglass side". :) . I could not pass this deal up. It might lead to a divorce, but I just bought a 211 Cobia Bay boat. It is loaded and in about 90% showroom condition. A 200hp 4-stroke Yammerjammer with ~150hrs. I sea trialed it today in an ugly 2' chop and it rode smooth as glass. It...

    Great Day today!!3-10

Had a great day fishing today!! The wind made it difficult, but we battled through the small craft advisory and caught a nice mess of Specks today. I caught 3 Mule Trout going a little over 4lbs each. Only caught one Redfish, but the trout made up for it.

    2005 boat, motor and trailer

Is it a rivet or welded boat? It sounds ok. In my area, I would guess used prices were: Welded 1448 800 - 1000 (good luck finding one) Rivet $250 - $400 Trailer $600-$800 05 Merc ~$1500 If it's a rivet, I would say that the price is a little lower than the going rate. A welded hull would...

    LINE

I fish 99% saltwater and I personally prefer mono. I believe that braid has it's place. If tournament redfishing, I use braid unless they are real picky. I also have a pole rigged with 120lbs Spider Wire for winching those donkeys (Amberjack) out of the oil rigs. I use mono because we mainly...
