Need info on depthfinders.

I am thinking about adding a new depthfinder to my rig. I have not had time to read up on the newest, latest and greatest units. Like which is better, down scan, side imaging....etc.

I would like a unit that I can see what is really below me, more like a 3d image.

Does anyone have a reliable source for information comparing the different kinds of technology out there?

your on your own if you want the info the bird guys will swear by their units and the lowrance guys will do the same.
bass boat central has both listed on their own pages so you can read the positives on both without seeing the bashing

Thank you. I am just looking for some info on the different types. I don't want to have to look up each and every different type out there. But I may have to. I will look at the Bass boat central site and see what they have to say.
