I have bad feet so a platform is out. So sticksteer is the best way for me to go,so here is the cheep to do it!

Nothing wrong with that setup. It's been around for decades in one form or another. I can't tell from your pics but make sure that all of your pulleys are bolted through the sides and not simply screwed into the sides. Bad things happen when those pull out at top speed. It's also a good idea to double up on your cable clamps.
