How would you mount a transducer on the front of your boat if you don't have a trolling motor up there? I have a 14' lowe semi vee

Cabelas sells brackets that clamp on to your boat for that.

I would prefer to mount it permanent, would a thru hull work on aluminum?

It will if you buy an alumaducer.

They are sort of pricey.

Finding a flat spot in a semi v that is parallel with the bottom would probably be a problem.
