Will Moeller fuel cap fit a Scepter tank?

I currently have a six-gallon Moeller portable gas tank with a pre EPA cap. I like how it vents and have obtained two extra caps before they become obsolete. The tank is in the forward most bench seat in my 14" Gregor. It fits really tight and I've been using it this way for years. I'm thinking of replacing it with Scepter's 6-gallon under seat tank which is a little narrower. Does anyone know if the Moeller 621501 low profile cap threads will fit the Scepter 10511 tank?

I was spilling so much fuel that I had to change out the cap & spout on my portable plastic gas cans. I also added a vent to the cans. Now I use the old style and have zero spills. But these are not portable boat tanks, so no help to you I'm afraid.

I know no one would ever think about modifying an EPA cap to make it manually venting. If they did, I wonder how they would do that.

It probably will fit. I have a scepter portable tank and the cap fits my atv .

What I need to do is find someone with a Scepter tank and try a test fit.

Scepter sells a replacement vented cap for "Vintage" tanks that are a direct fit. So does Moeller
