I have a humminbird 150 mounted on my trolling motor but I want to add a second one on the console for finding structure. The catch is that my boat has sponsons and trim tabs. Any thoughts on where I should mount the transducer?

You might want to look into a through hull transducer - you have no good spot on that rig. Anyplace you have will expose the stern mounted style to danger of ripping off

You do not want a shoot through the hull - you want one that is actually bolted to the hull

If you do not want to drill a hole then you might want to look into this company:

You will loose your water temp reading on many models

That through hull deal is pretty sweet! Gonna have to work some more OT and pick up on of those gems. Thanks for the info. Now I need to research a good unit to install.
