Does anyone know what year my 9.9 is?!

I thought it was an 81'. I really wanted to get new decals and stuff just can't find the same ones.... Anywhere.

There should be a metal tag on the motor with the model number that will tell you what year it is.

Already checked that these year motors they like didnt put the year on the tag. Weird I know

Take the cowl off & there will be a plug on the side of the motor about the size of a quarter that has the numbers your looking for.

'81 is pretty close. If you do not find the number under the cowling, check for a small number plate on the tiller (port) side of the motor maybe 6-10 inches below the cowling.

Yes, they did put a year model on the engine. Find and copy the tag and we will be able to tell you the year.

I have a 1980 just like that. Mine has a plate on the side of the transon mount. The code can be found on the internet to give you the year.

Well the cowling/engine cover is an 81' but that doesn't always mean the motor is a 1981. but if your just looking for new decals it is an 81' cover
