Interesting...............how do you catch them? Baited traps I presume right? We get Blue Crabs and Stone Crabs here in Florida as well as Crawfish (Lobster without the claws common to New England ones)
Usually with a baited ring or pot. Also castable traps. Dungeness are the main, but we also have Red Rock, and the invasive Green Crab. Crawdads are in most creeks and rivers.

The eagles like the chain pickerel, here. Easy targets for them.
Pike, Pickerel, Musky all within same bony frame have them "Y BONE'S" throughout body / However! My Grandfather would filet them and brine them with a touch >tablespoon of Vinger & water soak overnight -re rinse fresh water & then Milk before breading & frying any bone's that were left from fileting from brine would be so soft you would eat bones, and all would not know it.

My buddy and I had a really great day during a guided fishing trip by John Snagler, owner of STC Tackle on the Susquehanna River in central PA. Caught and released about 60 smallmouth bass! These river bass have powerful tails that put up a great fight! John’s jet boat has a shallow draft a lot of fun. His spinner baits and plastic baits were awesome! Some unusual sights on the river as well like a truck crossing the river! Great memories were made today!

Took this one this morning just as the sun was starting to lift. That's a hydro electric dam on the Potomac River in the background. We caught 56 bluegills and 10 smallmouth between 0600 and noon. All caught on live minnows. No big smallies but most the bluegill were big fat ones. We filled up the 40gal livewell I will fry some up but most will be usesd for catfish once the fall bite heats up.

Getting ready to close up the camp and celebrating my fathers 91st birthday. Fished three hours with my son in a cold front that dropped temps from an Indian Summer week of low 80’s to 50’s. Constant rain and wind, but fish were biting well for there. We caught 3 LM, 1 SM, and about a dozen pickerel. All on spinnerbaits.

It’s a nice day when you can catch them in those conditions.

I don't give up until ice is so thick I can't drill by hand. By then it's time to clean box's sort gear and get ready for spring & 1st day of trout- unless get warm spell and hit the year round lakes early. Or go to buddy's fishing shed ! did I say give up?????//
